Welcoming the New Year live on Twitter
The New Year’s Eve live stream will air from Downtown Dubai starting at 11:30 PM Gulf Standard Time (2:30 PM EST) on December 31. The event’s main highlight is Emaar’s new #LightUp2018 presentation. It will feature a specially-choreographed light show at the Burj Khalifa, and a water music performance at the Dubai Fountain.

Viewers can also join the conversation about the event through a dedicated Twitter timeline. By using the hashtag #MyDubaiNewYear, you unlock a Dubai-inspired emoticon that you can add to your tweets.
This is the second time that Twitter is partnering with the real estate developer to live stream the Dubai New Year’s Eve celebrations. Twitter’s Head of Revenue for the Middle East and North Africa Benjamin Ampen expressed his excitement for getting to host the event again.
“We are excited to bring the Dubai New Year’s Eve celebrations to our users around the world again after a successful experience last year. No matter where you are, viewers will be able to watch a never seen before spectacle and join the live New Year’s conversation all on Twitter.”
